Hello, Welcome to another article on my thoughts. This has been one of the long pending topics that I wanted to write about. I would be happy to know what you think about this at the end.
Recently, I was writing some go code and wanted to understand something, that’s when I found this website called gobyexample. Interesting way to learn, isn’t it? You will learn everything with the example program. But personally, I think there is a super side effect to this – Imitation. The more examples we get to see – the more we realize how one can use these in various scenarios – But my question is why didn’t we become creative/even explored such scenarios before? Because we haven’t really thought about those scenarios? or Maybe there is a thin line to what extent we can learn with examples.
Let me bring one more thought that will reinforce this argument – Food. If you think about the different cuisines in the world, all of them had to get creative with the resources/heavily grown crops according to their weather leading to some very different recipes in the world. For say, Thai Food – I know everybody loves it. They became super creative with coconuts – made very delicious Thai curries with the biggest crops. The same goes for avocado and Mexican food. Would this be the same in the era of technology? Might not be. Because in the current world, we are overwhelmed with information, examples, and references that everything is becoming more and more copies of the reference itself rather than using references/examples in our own context to make it unique of its own like Dum Biryani. Though it is not originated in India, it became unique and popular because we got creative with the recipe.
The creative space gets narrow as we focus more and more on the examples. Maybe they should be used in minimal quantities for maximum creativity. In Zero to One, Peter Thiel discusses the same, talking about China copying what worked for the USA left and right without understanding if that would work for them considering their conditions.

Technology bought us closer, there is no debate on this. But, I would say it made us more or less the same in the current time. Please read this article on the same lines discussing much more lines reflecting the same thought differently – The age of average.
That’s all for today. Peace!
